I request all boys, girls and adolescents from all over the world to defend their rights. I also request all adults to respect and defend children’s rights.

Ana's story

Ana, 13, lives in Mexico in an area where violence, robbery and kidnapping of children are rife, and authorities do little to help. It is dangerous to be an adolescent, especially if you are a girl. Acutely aware of this, Ana speaks out against violence and aims to empower children with knowledge about their rights. She has taken part in exhibits and events to raise awareness of children’s rights, and in activities on campus around the theme of Say No to Violence, Say Yes to Peaceful Coexistence at School. Ana is a member of the student council and is involved in school projects to boost peace and self-esteem among the children.
