Bonita's story

Bonita, 14, is an environmental activist in Uganda. She wrote her first book, Friends, at the age of nine, and it won several awards. Along with her second book, it was approved by the Authority of Uganda National Curriculum Development Centre to be used in schools. She has two more books about climate change forthcoming, and speaks regularly, among high-level parliamentarians and government ministers, at African summits about the environment. In the future Bonita wants to intensify her efforts to write and persuade children of the urgency of addressing climate change.
