Hannah's story

Hannah, 15, lives in America. She has been an environmentalist and animal rights activist since kindergarten, when she began fundraising for animal welfare organizations all over the world. At 10, she recognised plastic pollution as the number one issue and began campaigning to reduce plastic consumption in her community. She has brought her message to schools and conferences worldwide. She worked with state officials in Georgia to declare 15 February 2017 and 2018 as Plastic Pollution Awareness Day. In 2017, CNN named her the Teen Earth Day Hero. Hannah is currently working with Costco’s Assistant Vice President for Global Sustainability and Compliance on a switch to paper straws. In the future Hannah plans to continue her fight against plastic pollution, teaching people how to reduce their plastic footprint.
