Life does not scare me. Like Malala says, if you are scared you cannot go forward. Only this way can we really be the change we want to see in the world, reiterating Gandhi’s words.

Heidi's story

Heidi, 15, lives in Mexico. She has always been interested in the environment, poverty and inequality, and she sees that children often lack the opportunity to make their voice heard. Heidi approached the school authorities asking them to recycle school waste and invest the money earned in resources for the school. She keeps the peace at school, and children often confide in her; this inspired her to come up with various initiatives for platforms where children can express their feelings and thoughts. Heidi motivates her peers to improve their environment and to think as individuals, so they now believe that they really can be agents of change. In the future Heidi would like to become a lawyer.
