Jana, 17, lives in Montenegro. At the age of 11, Jana read the Convention on the Rights of the Child and concluded that many rights are not respected. Since then, Jana has sought every opportunity to address these violations. She has participated in numerous press conferences about children’s rights, violence and discrimination, and in workshops with children from vulnerable groups, including Roma, orphans, and children with disabilities. She has been the Golden Advisor of the Ombudsman of Montenegro for the past four years and a member of the pupil’s parliament (of which she is president) for seven. She has raised public awareness of children’s rights in Montenegro among both children and adults.
