Samia's story

Samia, from Bangladesh, was upset to see her friends forced to stop their studies to enter the world of work and marriage before their 18th birthdays. She wanted to help them, but was not sure how. She decided to join World Vision’s child forum as a committee member and to raise her voice against child abuse, child labor and child marriage. She has saved four girls from early marriage in her own community, and has conducted campaigns to improve the lives of local children in many ways, including nutrition, poverty and bullying. She has been to Brussels to represent Bangladeshi children, speaking at the launch of the ‘It takes me’ campaign. Samia’s dream is for every child to live safely and happily, and grow up without difficulties.
